CTAE SHOWCASE
The 2022 CTAE Showcase featured top projects and presentations from the CTAE Program at D.A.T.E., including 2D/3D Animation, Drones & Aviation, Digital Media and Green/Electric Cars. There was also a CSE demonstration to celebrate National Computer Science Week.
Special Guests included Georgia Tech’s CEED (Center for Engineering Education & Diversity) representative Trice Benton, Georgia State Professor and Keys 2 Tha Lexis founder Dr. Benjamin Moore along with the Dekalb County Library.
Dekalb Agriculture, Tech & Environment Charter School 7th Grade CTAE Digital Media students participate in the 3rd Annual CTAE Showcase, presenting digital media basics covering film, photography and more. Observers participated in photo shoots in front of green screen.
Dekalb Agriculture, Tech & Environment Charter School 8th Grade CTAE Drones students participate in the 3rd Annual CTAE Showcase, presenting historical and technical info and demonstrating on an obstacle course.

Dekalb Agriculture, Tech & Environment Charter School 6th Grade CTAE Green Cars students participate in the 3rd Annual CTAE Showcase, introducing and demonstrating the various tools and process to building Green Cars.
Pixar Layout Artist and Animation Pioneer Johnathan Gibbs shares his story and gives some tips to the CTAE Animation program and all students in general.
Johnny explains his process to becoming a skilled technician by starting early in Middle School and creating his own short film in High School while experimenting with every position. Gibbs relays his experience on films like Turning Red, Light Year and the upcoming Elementals. He also drops some jewels on the value of Blender, the Animation Pipeline and a description of his job as a Layout artist and how his department works with all others.
Resident contributor, executive and street dance legend, Daniel Price brings a new outlook on the evolution of technology, crypto-currencies and the booming NFT industry. Price reveals some new projects he’s working on and gives the CTAE Showcase community a glimpse at what’s possible with the upcoming CTAE Program NFT project, SOLSTEAM.
Blockchain Specialist and CTAE Showcase Industry Pro Guest, Sea Will of the Passive Income Network contributes a potent dose of the future of technology and all things Web3. He shares his experience as a Digital Media Professional, Music Artist and now Crypto Educator & Pioneer. A staunch ambassador of Algorand and blockchain education, Sea Will recalls the past and current professional opportunities in the industry.
The Passive Income Network is a platform that educates people on Cryptocurrency and how to invest in assets that produce passive income through a series of courses, coaching and workshops.
In this recap, the 2022 CTAE Awards Ceremony featured words from instructors, students and D.A.T.E. & STEAM Teams admins. The ceremony highlighted outstanding performances by CTAE students and $500 worth of rewards were given out. Partners & sponsors were acknowledged and students gave accounts of what they most valued and learned in the program this year.
